The top left and lower right of the shield is connected with the Chavasse family while the top right and lower left of the shield is connected with the wife’s family. ’Loyaulte mon heritage’ is the inscription below the shield and below that is the name Kendal G. Chavasse. The Chavasse family lived at Whitfield Court, Kilmeadan from the late 19th century to 1913 and then moved to Seafield House, Castletownsend, Co. Cork.
