Children-L to R: Jack O’Brien, Christina (Chrissie, later Chrissie Lennon of St Otteran’s Terrace), Bridget (Biddy later Biddy Fox, a much-respected schoolteacher in Waterford), baby Annie (later Annie Brophy, she ran Roncalli B&B on Summer Hill opposite Lodge’s supermarket for many years well in to the 1980s – and was sister-in-law to her namesake Annie Brophy, the photographer), Patrick (moved to the USA in the early 1920s and lived there until his death in the mid-1980s).
Bridget (the mother here) was a great-grand niece of Bishop JKL of Carlow, the great Catholic thinker and champion of Catholic emancipation. She lived at Windsor House until her death in 1957.
