The Sheanachie (The Old Storyteller) Public House, Restaurant and Craft Shop, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. A late 18th century thatched building, the Seanachie is furnished throughout only with traditional fittings. Winner of every major award available in Ireland (Nat. Trust Heritage award for the building, Bord Fáilte’s award for excellence and the Nat. Hygiene Award for the restaurant, with the premier accolade of Ireland’s ’Pub of the Year’ going to the bar). The Seanachie, which Gault/Millau call ”un des plus jolis bars d’irlande”, is a national institution.
