Bicycle Race At The Gaelic Field

A bicycle race at the Gaelic Field in Shandon, Dungarvan. The man kneeling with bowler hat and stick on the left of the photograph is Dan Fraher. Dan leased the field from Captain Richard Curran in 1885 and developed it into a sports field. On the 31st March 1912 he acquired the sports field which is now known as the Fraher Field.
