Railway Bridge On The River Suir
The Railway bridge which traverses the River Suir near Waterford City. It was constructed as part of the Mallow - Waterford railway line. The Mallow - Waterford line was Ireland's last non-radial railway served by express trains. The bridge was used by oil, dolomite & magnesite trains to & from Ballinacourty up until July 1982. A final passenger special organised by the Irish Railway Record Society operated over it shortly before closure. The last train, Track Recording Vehicle EM50, passed over it in May 1990.
