American Federal Judge, Michael Roche seated with girls at Ring Irish College during his only visit to Ireland in 1950. Federal Judge, Michael Roche, San Francisco was born at Barranastook, Ring in 1878. Son of William and Bridget (nee Foley) Roche. Bridget was from Moonamean. Emigrated to Illinois in 1880. Became a lawyer and was appointed a Federal Judge by F. D. Roosevelt. He presided over the famous trial of "Tokyo Rose" in San Fransisco in 1949.
