Morrissey's Butchers, Public House and Grocery Shop, 88 O'Connell Street, Dungarvan. Name written in Irish: Ó Murigheasa Agus A Mhic (Morrissey And Sons), over the entrance. L - r: boy in front, unidentified, partly hidden, Liam Morrissey, Kathleen Morrissey (nee Ryan), mother of Liam and Vincent, Paddy Houlihan - Butcher - Fairlane, Vincent Morrissey, Kathy Power (nee Walsh, Coolrua, Old Parish), sister of Councillor Richie Walsh. To her right is Madge Veale and the other is unidentified.These ladies worked in the Grocery Shop. Notice big double doors to the Butchers shop, the slaughter house was up the back through the shop. Animals for slaughter were driven through the shop up to the top of the yard. At a later stage a slaughter house was built at Fair Lane, (now Wolfe Tone Road).
