Dungarvan Swimming Pool Under Construction

A view of Dungarvan Swimming Pool under construction, photographed from 'The Lookout' side. The Ring Gaeltacht is in the background. The 150 feet by 50 feet pool was constructed at an estimated cost of 3,200 pounds. Work on this started in March 1941 and the walls were well above high water level in August 1942. The maximum depth in Spring tide was 4 feet 6 inches to 10 feet. Average tide 2 feet 6 inches to 8 feet.
